1st day of school

Yesterday was a big day for our family. Halle had her very 1st day of 1st grade and Brad started college!! So, it was quite an exciting day for us. Halle is attending Turrill Elementary and her teacher is Mrs. Nehmer. She goes from 8:19am-3:12pm everyday! She had a great first day of school! She has 2 recesses (which she was super happy about), likes her teacher, has made a few friends with some of the girls in her class, and is in the brand new wing of the school. She said that one boy in her class has never been in school before and he was eating crayons. She used the words "gnawing" and "disgusting" when telling the story, which was hilarious to me! Overall, her first day was a huge success!

Brad also had a good first day of college classes. He is attending Mott Community College for his first two years and then is going to transfer over to University of Michigan-Flint. He had his sociology class in the morning, went to work for 4-5 hours, and then went back in the evening for his geography class. He is getting used to the whole college setting. It is just all new to him. He seemed to like his classes though, so that was good. He also has a theatre class and a pyschology class. So, he is definitely taking a full load! The Lord was good and blessed us with a grant that will cover almost all of his tuition. We just have to buy the books! I guess if we would have made $400 more last year we would have been over the limit and could not be rewarded anything! So, that was a true blessing!
I tried to take a picture of Brad on his first day of school, but he wouldn't let me. Party pooper!
So far I have not been called to substitute teach, but then again, we are only on the 2nd day of school. Let's hope most teachers are in their classrooms at the beginning of the year!! It would be pretty sad to have a substitute teacher the 1st day of school!!! I am guessing within the next few weeks, I might get called. Until then, I am still searching for other job opportunities.
